I retired in 2013 from The Boeing Company where I was an Electrical Engineer and Manager. I was originally licensed in 1993, not too long after I experienced the Landers, CA 7.5 magnitude earthquake at it's epicenter. Strange how those kind of events can be motivators. I operated as General Class KD6SUU until 2012 when I upgraded to EXTRA Class. I was very lucky to capture the vanity callsign I use today, but I'm still trying to live up to the expectations of the callsign (I operate CW but not much above 20WPM). Working conditions are modest... Yaesu FTdx3000 tranceiver, Elecraft KPA500 amplifier and attendant KAT500 tuner all driving a vertical antenna. I often participate in HF contests and chase those short 6 meter openings when I find them. I also like good conversation when I can find it as well.

I QSL 100% for cards and LOTW and am in the process of closing down other electronic QSL systems. The maintenance seems more than the value I'm getting. If I havent already, I hope to meet you on the air... 73
