This picture is the K7CA/B 6m beacon antenna on 50.060.4 from DM26 Las Vegas, NV. It is a pair of crossed dipoles 12 feet apart. The two dipoles in each pair are fed 90 degrees out of phase and the two pairs are fed in phase.

I've been enjoying making qsos with 1 watt using FT8.  The first few days I ran high power but found that it is not necessary and probably overloads others receivers since FT8 seems to work best with the AGC off. I would like to see a power indication sent along with grid square since there seems to be 3 digits in FT8 that are unused now.

It took only 3 days to work all states with 1 watt using FT8.  So I decided to try to work 100 countries with 1 watt and so far have 37 over the last 5 days. And since WAS was so easy with 1 watt, I'm now trying to work all states again but with 100 milliwatts. That is more of a challenge but is fun and not too difficult.  I have about half worked in the last week including AK and HI. When that is done I'll have to try with 10 milliwatts but my K3S only goes down to .1 watt so will have to build a 10dB attenuator I guess.

N7JW and I are working to get our contest site in Utah working again after several years of no maintenance.  We have at least 36 antennas for 160m plus several for other bands.  That takes a lot of work to keep going. There is no commercial power at the site which is another challenge but gives us a very low noise floor on the low bands. Hope to see you all on TopBand.
