Ham Member Lookups: 750

I was born the youngest child of two hams Ed Lange K7YOH, and Patricia Lange WA7BRU (currently KC7UOO). Growing up, virtually every adult I knew was a ham. So when we went visiting, I spent many many hours in the shacks full of dimly glowing radio's totally fascinated by the glowing tubes inside, while listening to the signals coming out. So I have a STRONG nostalgia for tube gear. Especially Elmac's AF-68 & PMR-8.

After a lifetime relationship with communications equipment of one kind or another, I finally got my ticket in 1996. I was originally licensed as KC7RBA (Really Big Antenna). Shortly afterwards, the first vanity gate was opened up, and I realized that some day my father's call could come back over the air at me. I was bound and determined that was not going to happen. So I made sure that I was the one who got the call to keep it in the family. I even have a photo of myself, taken in 1964-65 of myself in a t-shirt with the call K7YOH on it, along with the "Camper Number" 24 (our family's membership number in the REBELS ARC). I'm now Vice-President of the REBELS and my "Camper Number" is 424. Sure is a small world.
