Retired - Healthcare Administration & Clinical Engineer

Handle  "Hank"  Ham Radio Interests: First licensed at KN9LZJ in 1958. With K9SG & K9XV, they have constructed a contest station in Greenfield, IN. Present interest in SDR technology and magnetic loop antenna's. Active on digital modes, and the implementation of remote control of amateur radio stations. Many of my contacts are made from my home 8 miles from the remote station that includes a K3, TS2000, 5 band quad, 3 el steppIR, 4 sq 40-meter array, and vhf/uhf beams on 40, 56, 80 and 160 ft towers.    First Class Radio Telephone License with Radar Endorsement, Board Certified in Clinical Engineering,  Other hobbies include SCUBA diving, sports cars, photography, and international travel obtaining amateur radio licenses in many foreign locations.

Outside interests include island travel mixing ham radio, with diving and making new friends.  Spend winters in Perth, AU with my daughter, her husband, and my wife. I operate my remote station from Perth, AU allowing me to continue my ham radio operations 11,000 miles away from home.  Have fallen in love with AU and all of its people. I presently hold a call in AU - VK6AW. Other than ham radio I love all aspects of healthcare delivery including medical instruments.  Past activities include holding senior administration roles in large healthcare systems. Board of Directors Ivy Tech State College,  Technical Excellence Award from the Indiana Radio Club Council - 2009 & 2015,  Past President and board member- Scientech Club, Inc.

The remote station I operate is part of the Innovations in DX and Contesting, LLC club made up to K9SG, K9SV, and WB9YCZ, W9YE.  The Club Call is W9VW, please see it's  QRZ page.  A picture of the club station location and antenna's is attached this page.   Please go to Utube and view the 2017 video of the W9VW.  http://www/youtube.com/watch?y=jM3QL6AW9FU .  I think you will like what we have done. In the fall of 2015 we up a new Rohn 55G 160 ft rotating tower that will hold beams for 40, 20 and UHF/VHF operation.  In the spring of 2016 a 100 ft tower will be installed.  This station can be completely operated from any remote location within the world, including my daughters home in Perth, AU.
