KA1RTW "Doc" lives w/wife Brenda  in Pownal, Maine.

Retired from work on 1/8/2017, now I have lots of time, and no money!

Play involves kayaking and bicycling in the warmer months, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.

We own a Cessna 172, N8818B and we love to fly. You might see KA1RTW-7 on APRS as we fly around northern New England, however with the limited money available due to retirement the aircraft is now for sale.

Had been away from hamming for a while, and DSTAR brought back my interest, since playing with it in March, 2015.

I'm usually hanging around on reflector 1C or sometimes 50C.  Also recently got involved in DMR+ using an incredible TYT MD-380 - I can't believe the quality of this chinese radio!  When I'm on here I usually monitor Maine Statewide on the Portland, Maine W1IMD repeater, however, I don't hear very many people using this mode.   Recently got a Yaesu FT1DR to look at the Fusion system, and not many people using this mode either.  DSTAR currently seems the way to go, especially using reflectors versus tying up repeaters.

Best to all of you.
