Welcome! By most standards, I'm a new ham - licensed in 2011. My shack has a couple primary rigs.

The Elecraft K3 is an outstanding rig that keeps me learning. That's connected to a homebrew 80 meter flattop dipole at about 90 feet, and a 5-band hex beam at about 45 feet. I usually run about 60 watts, however I'll occasionally warm up the Ameritron 811H to add a little power.

I also run a Kenwood TM-D700 dual-bander connected to a Ringo Ranger vertical at about 30 feet. It is configured to operate as an APRS digipeater. The digipeater gets a fair amount of action during commute hours. This radio also allows me to join in on local simplex and repeater conversations on 2 meters and 70 centimeters.

I enjoy SSB on HF when time permits. I also dabble a bit in the digital modes, using the Ham Radio Deluxe suite for PKS31, SSTV, and more. The HRD logbook handles logging and LOTW updates.

When mobile, I'll often have a Yeasu 857-D up, listening to simplex or repeaters for where ever my ride takes me.

I'll look for you on the bands, hoping to add our QSO to the log!

Peace, and good DX
