I mostly work the following modes on HF - JT-65, SSTV, Oliva 8-500, and PSK31. I work others but these were you will mostly find me.

I am using an Yaesu FT-100D with 10 watts on an end-fed long wire antenna, and a MFJ 949E Tuner.  Some times I will use the 160m - 10m Vetical antenna.

I can now QSL via QRZ, eQSL and LoTW.  Several times a week I upload my logs to LoTW. SWL Reports are always welcome. I will confirm all SWL Reports that I recieve.

I got interested in the hobby at age 12, along with  an interest in electronics and meteorolgy.  In high school I decided I was going to go to college to get a degree in meterology.  However during my senior year a ham operator talked me out of it.  You see I used to listen to the 2 meter band in the evening.  One of our local TV weatherman from a Pittsburgh TV Station was also a ham.  He would get on the radio after he did either the 6 pm or 11 pm newscast.  I would listend for him.  One day I wrote him a letter, and he returned it back to me.  (Yea the days before e-mail or the internet).  He invited me to the studio to see what he did and gave me a talk.  He suggested to get out of the meteorolgy but more into computers and electronics becasue he said thats the way the weather game was going.  So I did and got a degree in electronics.
