I've had the KB5KZS callsign since licenced as a Novice in the early 80's. Active on the local 2m FM and SSB and 70cm. I have also operated on 10,15,20,40, and 80 meters from various locations in northeastern Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas.

I own and maintain two repeater systems that host IRLP nodes in Bartlesville Oklahoma. IRLP Node 8310 is on 145.150 mhz and IRLP Node 3050 is on 443.125. Node 3050 also has the capabilities of EchoLink Node 162489. Both repeaters have a PL tone of 88.5 Most of my time is spent tinkering with different electronic projects, both building and repairing all types of electronics.

I'm a 100% disabled veteran with more that 18 years of service in the U. S. Navy as an Electronic Technician, and have visited many of the Mediteranian countries, Pacific Islands, Australia, Japan and Southeast Asia.

I'm currently married and have 3 kids (by previous marriage) and 12 grandkids.

Other hobbies include wood carving, and home improvements. The restoration of my old 1967 Mustang convertable was passed on to my son, N5ZRC a couple of years ago. I am also an avid veteran's rights and benefits advocate, serving in various capacities to help our nation's injured and aging veterans.

The amateur hobby has been a big part of my life and many friends from all over the world have given their time for a good ole' fashioned "Rag Chew" to make the journey both fun and enjoyable.
