Hello to all around the world. My name is Ted Moody. I have been a licensed ham radio operator for over 20 years. My wife's name is Diana. We have two sons, Joshua and Christopher. ALL OF US are licensed ham radio operators.

I work at Ham Radio Outlet in Anaheim, California and have been there for about 10 years.

My wife, Diana, KB6CUR, is a property manager of one of the largest and oldest wholesale produce markets in Downtown Los Angeles, California. She rides her own 750cc motorcycle (Yes,750cc's of Raw Power)! She likes it alot because it "kindof" matches the color of my motorcycle. :)

Right now, my eldest son, Joshua, KF6RNH, is an AH-64 Apache Helicopter Maintenance Mechanic in the United States Army and is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. I am a "Proud Papa". :-) Joshua enjoys riding his motorcycle in Texas. It was his "First Big Purchase" and he is very happy with it. Joshua is now in Afghanistan.

My youngest son, Christopher, KG6SAR, and is now going to classes and studying to become an Air Traffic Controller at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California. He has taken online classes at home too.  He also rides a  motorcycle.

I have been involved in Packet (1200 and 9600 Baud), APRS, SSTV, FSTV. I generally like 50, 144, 220, 440, 900, 1200 mhz. I have tried HF for a while, but I generally like the "SMALL ANTENNAS" ___ aka 144, 220, 440, 900, + 1200 mhz antennas. :-)

I purchased a couple of ICOM ID-1, D-STAR Digital Voice (DV) and Digital Data (DD) ham radio transceivers. One for home and one for mobile use. I still need to put some better coax at home on the 1200 mhz antennas and put them up higher in the air to accommodate getting a better signal to the local DV + DD repeaters in the area. I have been able to use the WA6IRC Digital VOICE D-STAR Repeater System ... http://ladstar.org/ ... here in the local area. The 1200 mhz WA6IRC DV repeater is working fantastic !! I can use it all the way from Orange County while I am mobile !! The D-STAR 144 + 440 systems also work remarkably well and are in the Los Angeles area. The 1200 mhz D-STAR Systems are few and far between.  This D-STAR stuff is catching on pretty fast here in "So-Cal" !!

Look for more information on ICOM D-STAR RADIOS + SYSTEMS at.... http://www.icomamerica.com/amateur/dstar/

If you want to checkout more of the DV, aka, DIGITAL VOICE, a good DIGITAL VOICE website... http://www.hamradio-dv.org/    ...... There on that website, you can actually LISTEN to some of the different modes via the links on the LEFT SIDE of the webpage when you get there.

I ride a 1800cc motorcycle.

Also, both of my sons are licensed to ride motorcycles too !! Both my sons have the same motorcycle too. We are a family of Motorcycle Riding Ham Radio Operators !!  :-)

I hope to talk to you all on the air. ____ especially on DV !!

Ted Moody
