My name is Fred, and much like meny other hams I got my start some years ago operating on citizen's band. I made a ton of friends over the radio back then, and still keep in touch with some to this day. We used to hang out on channel 23 - 27.2550. I then organized an AM network called the KCB Net that had well above 50 active members. Then as the age of computors came about my intersest in radio communication faded. It wasn't till this past year 2014 that I had an interest in scanning again, then I thought I might as well try for my technician class license while I had some time on my hands. I passed, and now I am preparing for my general class. You can usually find myself and a bunch of locals on the 2 meter calling freq. 146.520. Also having a lot of fun with digital modes such as D-STAR and DMR.
