Hi Everyone:

I live in Enfield CT which is located in the North Central part of the state, a few miles from the Mass CT border.  I first became interested in radio back in the 70s with CB.  I always wanted to get started in Ham Radio but with school, military, marriage and work, well you get the idea.

I'm a General Class Operator and with a little luck, and some help from upstairs, I will be earning my Extra in the future.

My Rig is a Yaesu FT DX 1200 with a Heil PR-22 mic out to a 72ft End Fed antenna, bare foot. Plus starting some QRP stuff with a Yaesu 817.  And of course a number of HTs, and a Yaesu Ft 1900 for 2 meter work in the shack.  I recently installed a Yaesu ft-7900 in my truck with a Tram 1180 NMO antenna with a 5" mag mount.  I seperated the head and mounted that on a Lido 20" mount and placed the rest of the unit under the front seat.

I enjoy Rag Chewing, DX contacts and sending and receiving QSL Cards.

I also have an interest in solar power to work with the 817 on  portable.  I have had some luck with DX contacts with the 817, 5watts out with a 7.5ah battery and a MFJ 1820T telescoping antenna with a13FT counterpoise. Needless to say the conditions were good that day.
