Ham Member Lookups: 1024

I got my Technician License in Schenectady, NY (hence the "2" call) in 1993. I did NOT like code, so I was content to stay a Tech, until a member of KARC in Mariettta, GA said to me, "Code has been dropped for the General Exam you know." So in 2011 I became a General, and moved to Vero Beach FL, where I reside now.

I am a member of the Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club (VBARC), and I am a VE also. A current member of ARES rounds out my "spare time"...oh yeh, I am studying for EXTRA CLASS now ! I am an ARRL Certified Instructor, and have passed the ARRL EMCOMM and PIO courses.

My "shack" as pictured below consists of a Kenwood 440SAT, and an Eagle One antenna.  As we live in a manufactured home park, Village Green in Vero Beach, I am limited to height and quantity of antennas. No worry I have fun with what I have.  I am also active in the 2m ARES NET every week. My 2m equipment consists of a WOUXUN KG-UV920PA mobile, BAOFENG UV-5RA handheld, and an ICOM IC-2100H used in my "GO KIT".

Altough I have attended many hamfests (ATLANTA, ORLANDO, MELBOURNE, STEWART), my great thrill was to attend the ARRL 100th Anniversary bash in Hartford in July, 2014. What a class show !!! ...and what a priviledge to attend and say, "I AM THE ARRL".
