I changed from my original call KB3VWK  to KC3RW  to celebrate 30 years of marriage to my YL KB3WAV.  KC was her maiden initials and RW are mine so makes for neat call.  Plus way easier to send in Morse.

National Parks on the air (NPOTA).  Kerri ended up Number 5 in the nation, I ended up 23. Our accomplishments were the following:

antiedam battle field 1st Activaiton for NPOTA

moncacy battle field 1st Activation for NPOTA

Greenbelt Park 1st Activation for NPOTA

Johnstown Flood park 1st Activation for NPOTA

Bluestone National Scenic River 1st activation for NPOTA

Friendship Hill 1st Activation for NPOTA

Fort Neccessity 1st Activation for NPOTA

GAULEY river 1st Activation for NPOTA

It was todate the single most fun activity we have had in ham radio

Final equipment used was alpha mota antennas with ft 857/ kenwood 480.  Many modifications were made before we got to that point.

below is some of our mobile and portable platforms for NPOTA activations.

car was at flight 93 very cold day. We are now involved in parks on the air activiations.

Got my TECH ticket April 2011  Its been a great hobby and now my wife is involved also KB3WAV. We enjoy working the 3905 century club. I use 2 meter nets on my commute to work everyday. I am currently using 3 long wire antennas G5RV, Windom, 80m long wire antenna and Mosley TA33 beam for 10,15,and 20m. I have been blessed by God with living in a old growth red oak hard wood forest. We are using the red oak trees with lines strung at 60ft and at a right angles to each other.  The G5RV is pointed to send north south. I have added a Windom antenna at 60ft running N/S and propagation is E/S We also have a 10m vertical and a 11m vertical antenna that are up. I have made a beverage antenna and a 160m loop antenna that are both receive only antennas. The Yaesu FT 897 and Yaesu FT 450D ares the rig we use for SSB and CW. I have two vibroplex bugs from 1918 and 1942. I now own 4 Czech straight keys and one bencher paddle. I  have been doing QRP with my ft 817.

I do Summit On the Air (SOTA) with my wife we have activated 3 peaks so far using the 817 and 897 that we backpack in.  I have credit for first activation of a summit using my old call sign of KB3VWK.  The hope is to get my wife to get one of the last two unclaimed summits in Maryland.

May God bless you and thanks for reading my bio

We almost lost my youngest KC3ETT in a car accident in summber of 2016 but praise be to God she has made a full recovery thanks to all for the many prayers that went up to heaven during that time.

Love doing SWL and hearing the Gospel being preached to all the world via short wave. I am born again and love that I am now getting to use the radio to meet other Christians.  Knew there was a reason I learned Morse at 18 years old, listening to those old radio shack tapes.
