Gene is my nickname.   The XYL is Donna, N5EGO

I've been an Amateur radio operator since 1960.  I am retired from the electronics industry primarily in computer management and Information Systems.

I enjoy the digital aspects of Amateur radio the best as my hearing is not as good as it used to be and it is hard for me to get call signs right.  I am active on most all digital modes and 6 and 2 meter Meteor Scatter.  10, 6, 2, and 432 is where I hang out most of the time but I can be found on most all the bands and modes once in awhile.

A few pictures of my Rover station.  I move all my 6 and 2 meter equipment out to the back seat of the pickup and add a couple of generators to the bed.  Gives me a kilowatt on 6 and 2.  The antennas are a Cushcraft 5 element on 6 and a Cushcraft 11 element on 2.  Going to be adding 432 to the stack.

When I have Internet access, I will be on Ping Jockey.

The home station here consists of the following radio equipment:

Icom IC-9100 transceiver (160-1296)

Icom IC-746PRO transceiver (160-2 meters)

Yaesu FT100D transceiver (160-432)

Kenwood TM-V71A (2/432 FM)

222 SSB transverter

220 FM rig

Several QRP rigs

Amplifiers consist of:

Drake L4B amplifier (HF)

Drake MN-2000 tuner

Command Technologies Commander VHF 1200 (6 meters)

Command Technologies Commander II (2 meters)

Lunar Link LA-70B (432)

Antennas consist of:

Cushcraft R8 vertical mounted up 21 feet

G5RV at 40 feet

80/40 meter dipole

VHF/UHF Discone

A view of some of the antennas at the QTH.  It is a small lot but they are farther apart than they look from this viewpoint.

60 foot tower with the following antennas on it all fed with LMR400:

Jetstream JTB1B - (2m / 70cm)

M2 432 9WL (432)

Cushcraft 13B2 (2 meters)

M2 2M7JHV (6 meters)

Still working on the 1296 antenna.

Hope to see you on the bands.  I QSL via LOTW and direct.

Gene
