Received my Tech on July 24, 2013 & passed my General in April 28, 2014. My picture is of me in my early days. My hair is now white!! Previously a SWL (started in the ‘50’s) & built several of my SWL rigs including a crystal radio for my Boy Scout project. Merit badge, Eagle Scout & Order of the Arrow.

Currently running a YAESU FT-7900R/E with a Tram 1480 VHF/UHF CLR base @ 72’, commercial Motorola Radius VHF with a reworked marine antenna @ 35’, Diamond X510N, a Hustler G7-220 vertical & SF-220. Numerous dual & single band HT’s. On the HF side, have been working with a “boat anchor” TEMPO ONE SSB Transceiver for 5 month’s now after cleaning .  Love "hanming it up"!

Now (11 May 2015) have aquired a IC-730 that I have cleaned and trying to resurect after years lying dormant, maybe in an old chicken coop! Cleaned and cookin' it in and seems like it might be a good unit in a few days! Also running a AT-200Pro Autotuner and  listening with my “home brew” long wire, modified Starduster vertical (10M) and playing with a Hustler 5-BTV borrowed from my “Elmer”. Made my first contacts in September 2014. Also work some 6M with my home-brew 6M antenna @ 45'.

Have been associated with NOAA NWS Flagstaff 1995 & Green Bay since 2005 . Below are my call signs & a link to my WX data that uploads every 5 minutes.
