This is my station from a few years ago, HF, VHF, UHF, and 1.2GHz. Additional modes: FSTV, SSTV, PSK31, ect. AMSAT, Moon Bounce. My backyard had 8 antennas, Wire, HF verticals, VHF & UHF verticals, plus satellite antennas for 2 meter, 440 and 1240 bands. Above left to right; AL-811H, MFJ tuner, IC-821H (top), IC-1271A (bottom), IC-756, Icom speaker/SM-8 mic., Yaesu rotor controller for satellite. Sold everything and moved to a new location using only an Icom-706mkIIG for several years.

Now using an Icom-7100 with a AT-180 tuner and a small multiband vertical antenna. Still haven't figured-out how to use DStar mode seems too complicated compared to FreeDV software. Update: Found many DStar repeaters in my area are not connected to the internet. Probably why I couldn't get it working. Bought  a DVMEGA and the world opened-up.

Using FreeDV with Icom-7100 is "Plug & Play", there's no need for additional sound cards or a route to PTT. Everything works through a single included USB cable. I use an external stereo mic, and PC speakers. Audio reports are clean and clear. Also playing with DMR digital radio and finding this to be much more popular than FreeDV or DStar. Never forgetting the fact that in the event of a national emergency, internet may become inoperable, leaving your DMR "communicationless".

This is the AX-330 Magnetic Loop antenna, tunes 80m thru 10m, made in Spain. Each tank houses a motorized capacitor. The loop is all made of copper tubing, total weight is 45lbs., outer loop measuring 40"x45" mounted 4' from ground to a wood post, not grounded. Tuning is "very" touchy at best, but with patience you can achieve 1:1 very low noise, and with low power I made many contacts within USA and various countries without a rotor. 70' cable to the tunning control box.
