I became a ham in 2016, I have been a tech for less than a year and I'm already trying to pass my general exam I'm still very new to the ham world and still have alot to learn I have a Id-880h ICOM d-star radio, a wouxun ht, a couple baofeng hts a couple Anytone mobile At-5888-uv radios and a Kenwood ts-430s. New update, as of yesterday 3-19-2017, I passed my exam and have upgraded my license to a general license, also made my very first 40m contact that evening. I have recently built a Simplex EchoLink station at my qth my node is 895565. I tried to monitor my node as much as possible but I am not always able to respond if I'm not on my local repeaters I am on HF 40 m the only antenna that I can afford is one that I have built myself it is a 40 meter dipole made out of stereo speaker wire and cut to length for the proper band the most exciting contact that I've had has been in Italy with nothing more than my homade dipole and ts-430s radio. That is all I have for now 73's and I hope to catch you down the log.
