First licensed in 1957. Worked just about every mode there ever was, but always been mostly CW and whatever digital modes hold my interest. Mostly JT9 and JT65 right now, but occasionally PSK. I've never enjoyed voice modes.

Current station includes two Elecraft K2's sharing a KPA/KAT100 into a TH7DXX at 60'. QRP the majority of the time, but the power is nice when you need it. Also have an Elecraft K1-4 for camping. My boat anchors include a Drake 2-B, Viking Ranger and Heathkit DX-40 which are used infrequently in winter on 40m.

Glad to hand out FISTS (11352) and SKCC (86) numbers any time. I'll even make skeds if needed. But I don't collect them for myself.

I prefer straight keys, bugs and cooties in the shack. For camping, I use a straight key or single paddle key with the integral Elecraft keyer. My main interest right now is building homebrew left handed bugs using a drill press and common hand tools. Unfortunately, I don't have a lathe or mill. Click on the photo in upper right for an enlarged picture of the bug I finished recently.
