I'm just an old guy who likes to hear himself talk. I got my ticket in 1979 and I have been in and out of the hobby ever since. I got started in radio as CB operator KLJ2288 sometime in the early 70's while driving a tractor trailer for North American Van Lines.
The beautiful lady and handsome old man in my gallery photo are my wife of 43 years, (Cheryl) (N8JNH) and me.
Unfortunatly, Cheryl passed away in 2013. She still watches over me and our boy. My son is a hard working man with a great wife of his own and he has always been a great source of pride for me and his Mom. Hug your loved ones.
Recently I have been operating on D-star with a DV Dongle and I'm making some very interesting new friends. It has been a good way to explore one digital mode at least without breaking my budget.
This hobby much like the rest of the world is evolving quite rapidly. Ham radio helps keep my mind as sharp as I can hope for at my rapidly advancing age. You'll never be lonely around here if you have an H.T. either. I've met some great folks while exploring this hobby.
A little rum (a little too much sometimes) and the 2013 Harley in my garage keeps my body from deteriorating too rapidly too. Just don't mix the two.
