Working on BC-312 - have lots of old military equipment that we use on the air...Bendix TA-12, BC-191, AN/GRC-9, BC 1306 BC348s 342s, 312s and lots of the ARC-5 familiy equipment.

I'm and old coot - received my ticket in late 1940s - have held calls: W7OSM, KH6DLE (was DX for 6 years!), WB6LZX, WB6ZKO and KF6AR. I dig real radios that have tubes and glow in the dark - but I must admit to owning a few Yaesus including the new little 857 I use as mobile in place of the Elmac AF-67 and in place of the FT-101 which were my mobile rigs up until a few years ago. I have always been mobile - Motorola Police Cruiser T-69 (lowered to 10M) then TBS-50D, then Subtraco, Howard and Pierson, then Gonset Twins (G66/G77 in a TR-3), then a series of Swans from 350s, a 400 and several 270s and everything in between - mobile mostly with home-brew antennas, lots of them bolted to a truck camper... Always have had resounding success mobile and portable operations (before I retired in 1989 I logged over 50,000 air miles a year resulting in portable operation from hotel rooms with wire out the window using home-brew CW rigs with regen receivers [as recently as Tahoe operation last year!]). It a good hobby, along with airplanes and motorcycles, and I find the Top Band, 80/75 and 40M are my mainstay until 10M opens again - hope to be around to see it happen! God Bless all you guys and gals out there! See my website for VLF stuff... Keep the filaments lit!
