Greetings,

My name is Cecilio Carbonell Jr., Kilo Foxtrot Six Echo Echo Wiskey temporary AG - KF6EEW/AG. Most of my friends just call me Junior since it's easier.

I tested for my Technician Ticket back in April or May of 1996, then entered Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot 17Jun96, my licsence hard copy came in while I was in boot camp.

Joined the Marine Corps as a Field Radio Operator MOS 2531 (later changed to MOS 0621 in 2000) and was trained in Marine Corps Communicatoins & Electronics School, Field Radio Operators Course at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Station Twentynine Palms, California. I was exposed to various types of radio equipment there and it just furthered my interest in radio. We worked with everthing from HF, VHF, UHF, and some SHF in various modes AM, FM Freq-hop and data transmissions. I graduated top 10 in my class FROC-10/96 and was given a coin from the school. I was even offered to continue on to Satelite Communications Course, but couldn't due to my enlistment contract with the reserve unit I was assigned to. I came back to the San Francisco bay are to report to Headquarters Battery 1st Battalion 14th Marines in Alemeda, Ca to perform as a field radio opperator for Marine Artillery. I prouldy served 6 years there and rose to the rank of Corporal (E-4) and served as a watch supervisor and Radio Team Leader on Forward / Advanced Party. While serving in the reserves I was given the opportunity to work for a division L-3 Communications by one of my Staff Sergeants that worked there, because he saw the way I worked and my experience was what the were looking for. I thank God I got hired! We were mainly a custom build as well as R&D department that did a lot of digital and analog RF technology for Commercial and Military contracts. I have been back and forth with the company for around 10 years, due to the unstable economy, and they have changed parent companies several times.

I got out of the Marine Corps in June of 2002, but got back in to the military once again with the California Army National Guard 870th MP Company, 49th MP Brigade in July 2008 to July 2009. I trained with the Military Police, but once again my skills as a military radio operator were called upon once again.

Currently I am employed by Tesla Motors in Fremont, Ca. as a QC Technician.

At the moment I'm studying for my General Class licsence and hope to get it soon to be able to explore the world on HF amateur bands!

I also do some emergency preparedness communications for my church as well as help in activies like field trips and carnivals for the children in our congregation with other members of our church that hold Ham licsences.

UPDATE: 1/24/2015 I just passed my General Class test! My brother also took his Technician Class test and passed! Now just waiting for the FCC to post...

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio,

73's

Jr, KF6EEW/AG
