Hello and 73s to all.

It's been a while since I've played radio, and thought I should update this page while I started getting back into things.  I have a couple of new radio updates,as well as news.  I've been studying my general ticket theory.  Hope to be a General soon.

You can still find me on the 145.450 machine in Red Bluff.  If you're GMRS licensed, you will find me on the Redding GMRS repeater as well.  My GMRS call sign is WQYP503.

I am working my ol' reliable IC-2800H as my main mobile rig.  I have started getting involved in a couple of new aspect of ham.  Well, new for me anyway.  I just purchased a new ID-51a Plus 2.  If you don't know what that is, you should check it out.  Pretty impressive little HT from Icom that is surely going to rock my world.  It should be here in two days, which is likely why I am up at 11:30 updating this site. - Can't sleep!

I also bought a small, cheap, yet impressive little Baofeng HT for around town use.  So far, I've been pretty impressed with the little guy.  I'm also getting into APRS, Right now I'm using my iphone, but plan on getting a MicroTrak soon!!!

I just got into working D-Star using SharkRF's OpenSpot.  This a pretty cool option for those of use who don't have a D-star repeater near by.  What you see below is a TP-Link router, a Verizon MiFi modem hooked up the the OpenSpot D-Star dongle. It's easy to set up and fun to use.

Most of the time you can catch me on REF014C .
