I'm a pretty new Ham. Licensed in early 2011 and upgraded to General in the Fall of 2011.

I go by my middle name, Brian. Most of the time that's what I'll give on the air.

My main interest is digital modes and I've been learning a lot about them the past year. I'm also working on learning the code. To date, I've had about 10 CW QSOs. I'm still pretty slow so I'm thankful for those who hang around on the slow speed/straight key gathering spots.

My main rig (and only rig until a couple weeks ago) is an Icom IC-7200. I chose it because it's got a digital interface built in and it's easy to take portable. It makes a pretty good home rig too though. At my antenna restricted house, my antenna is a loop of wire on top of my roof fed by an Icom AH-4 tuner. It seems to work pretty well for 80-6 meters. In less than a year of very casual operating (usually just a couple hours on the weekend), I've worked 35 states and 17 countries with it.

I also just got a Yaesu FT-817. I enjoy 4-wheeling in the desert so I plan to take the 817 with me so I can do some hilltop QRPing.

I'm on eqsl.cc and LOTW.  I'll also send QSL cards if requested and will return one if you send one to me.
