Everyone calls me "Rick"...OK by me 'cuz it's easier than "BF"... I was first licensed as a Novice in late 1988 (KB7GNQ), upgraded to Technician in February 1989 (N7MJI), became an Advanced in April 1989 (KF7VG) and finally an Extra in July 1989...topping it all off by becoming an accredited Volunteer Examiner for the ARRL and W5YI in August 1989. I kept my Advanced call since a new Extra call would've been a 2x2, which I already had and everyone knew me by it. And anyway, it rolls off the fingers really nicely in CW.

My main rig is an IC-765, running barefoot since I don't have an amp and can't justify the expense. The antenna for now is a G5RV that I built back in 1989 that's about 38' high at the center feed and 45' high at the end supports. In fact, the center of the antenna sits right over the center of my outbuilding ham shack, which coincidentally is the location noted on my latitude and longitude on this page.

73 es cul,

de Rick/KF7VG
