I'm going to keep this brief.

My main interests are Summits on the Air, VHF contesting, and chasing DX.  I sometimes operate HF contests too, though not very seriously.  Many of my contest efforts are in a group either as K1SIG or K1SIG/R (roving in the VHF contests).  I prefer SSB and non-chatty digital modes like JT65 and friends.

From August 5 to August 13 I will be hiking the Long Trail, southbound from the Canadian border to however far I manage to get.  There are 18 summits along the way eligible for SOTA.  I think I can activate around 15 pretty easily (some are bushwhacks I won't have time for).

My gear is a 20/40m dipole, an MTR3b, and a 9V battery.  I will probably stay around 14.062 and never move to 40m.  The battery means very low power.  Consider yourself warned.  I am new to CW so keep it very slow and very simple.  Have patience with my crappy CW and you'll get a lot of chaser points from me.  I think there will be two activations per day.  They will necessarily be brief - 30 minutes tops.

Weather could screw all this up, of course.  Watch for those spots.

I am considering sending out special QSL cards when this is all done, assuming I make enough contacts to justify the amount of work.
