QSL: QSL via LOTW, direct, or bureau

I'm going to keep this brief.

My main interests are Summits on the Air (SOTA), VHF contesting, FM satellites, and chasing DX.  I sometimes operate HF contests too, though not very seriously.  Many of my contest efforts are in a group either as K1SIG or K1SIG/R (roving in the VHF contests).  I prefer SSB and non-chatty digital modes like FT8 and friends.  On very rare occassion I am active on CW either for SOTA or for contests, but I am not very good at it.

From March 8 to March 12 I will be active in Bermuda as KG6CIH/VP9.  This is a vacation-style operation.  In addition to also checking out the island, I will be splitting radio time with a friend.  We will be focused on SSB operation on the main bands (20, 40, 80, 15 if propagation is good, 160 if antenna works), and maybe some satellite contacts thrown in there too.

QSLing will primarily be via LOTW, but if we get enough contacts we'll consider printing up special cards.  We will use those to respond to any cards we get.

Please QSL via my home call - KG6CIH - and not to Bermuda.

Either send cards via the bureau, or directly only with an SASE included.

I spent about a week on the northern end of the Long Trail in 2017, hiking and making SOTA contacts.  I plan to continue this throughout 2018, but in much smaller chunks.  I will be doing weekend backpacking trips all year long (well, once the snow melts) in the hopes of finishing up the Long Trail.  I'll be taking the radio with me to make lots more activations.

My gear is a 20/40m dipole, an MTR3b, and a 9V battery.  I will probably stay around 14.062 and never move to 40m.  The battery means very low power.  Consider yourself warned.  I am new to CW so keep it very slow and very simple.  Have patience with my crappy CW and you'll get a lot of chaser points from me.  Activations will be fairly brief - 15 to 30 minutes tops.

UTAH 2018

I am starting to plan a big road trip through Utah this fall, hitting all the national parks, doing lots of hiking, and of course taking the radio along for SOTA.  This trip is just now starting to take shape so I do not have details to share yet.  All radio activity will involve the MTR3b though.
