Well lets see, I am 56 and live in Coeur D Alene, ID which is about 30 miles east of Spokane, WA. I am fairly new to ham radio, got my ticket in Nov 2013, but not new to radio, I ran a (bad word) C.B. shop for many years and went to school for electronics. I have had a lot of medical problems, the most recent 3 heart atackes and a stroke all in 3 weeks, so now I am disabled and spend most of my time in front of my computers(8) and my radios(4 handhelds and 3 mobile/base) have been working on my general class and hope to get it soon. I do alot of bike riding on my 3 wheel recumbent(about 20 miles a day). I hang out on D-Star REF 029 A most of the time along with several local repeaters, I am a member of the local ARES group and I also run a local PSK31 net on 2m. For those that are interested I just passed my General Class test on 5-18-2016, now I just have to save up for my new radio(Icom 7100) which shouldn't take to long(about 6 months). Well it didn't take as long as I thought to get the radio, now just have to learn all the new settings, hihi.
Since getting the IC-7100 I have been doing a lot of JT65 on 20m and a little PSK31, I like the digital modes, I have not tried some of the other mode yet, but I will soon.
Radio - Icom IC-7100 for HF
Ant - Screewdriver mounted to a metel shed
Most of the time I run 10 watts on HF I am just amazed the I cant get to Japan, Germemy, Norway and others all over the world on such low power.
I have the radio's on all the time so feal free to call if I am up I will answer.
P.S. The bike is called the "Rover" by Terra Trike.
