Working portable on a beach in Key West Florida.

Yaesu 857d..... 12 AH sealed lead acid battery. 100 watts.

Home brew 1/4 wave vertical wire with counter poise.

Any one a little envious ?????? The weather was great. The conditions were fair.

The scenery was beyond compare. Made plenty of contacts.

Next trip I'll set up on a little rock jetty that sticks about 100 meters out in

the ocean and take full advantage of the sea water.

My home brew portable antenna. Fits in my pocket.

Using a Altoids can with banana plugs as my feed point.

Speaker wire split down the middle. Cut for 20 meters. No tuner needed.

My humble station.

Icom IC-7300.....Love this transceiver.

MFJ 949E Tuner. Yes.. I need the tuner to cover 80-6 with my end fed antenna.

Alinco DM-330MV switching power sipply.

Heil ICM mic.

End fed antenna...44' long....9 / 1 unun

Yep.....I'm one of those guys that bought a home in an antenna restricted complex.

So I think my wire antenna is pretty sneaky...At least no one has said anything about it..

44 foot thin wire that runs from the upstairs balcony to the upper reaches of a tree in back yard.

Can you see it?

It's true....We have alligators down here.

Although pretty rare here in town.

You better pay attention when walking your dog around the water ways.

I took this pic of a 6 footer with my phone.

We moved from Washington state to Florida in 2015.

I sure miss fishing for Salmon and Steelhead.

Here are a couple that graced our dinner table.
