Licensed in October 2004 after a summer of 4 Hurricanes across Florida. Upgrade to General in February 2007.
I am very fortunate to be under the watchful ear and eyes of great Elmer’s and advisors in the Tampa bay area. As a result I enjoy many areas of the hobby, VHF weak signal, Contesting, DX award work, AM and digital modes.
The HF part of the shack consists of a Icom 756 PRO III with Icom PW1. Icom 706 for 6 meters, and a 706MKII with a RFC amp for 2 meters.
Antennas, MSquare 9 elements on 2meters, MSquare 3 elements for 6meters and the MQ26.(6 Band(6,10,12,15,17,20 Mini Beam hybrid "Quagi" Traps on the diamond quad reflector and traps also on dipole driven element.)ie the tower picture.
AM station has a DX-100 transmitter with D104 Microphone. Hammarlund HQ-129X , attached to the W0MHS D.Fischer Loop Sky wire antenna. Support the activity of FL AM GROUP NETS. D-Star on 2 meters and 70 cm, with an IC-91AD, and an IC-ID800H (installed in the Cobalt) with an IC-ID800H / DV Dongle in the shack. ID-1 for D-Star on 23cm voice and DD. I usually can be found on W4RNT_B. (444.8125+) also the W4RNT analogue repeaters. (442.725pl146.2)
