QSL!!!  I'm still authoring the page so check back occasionally to see updates..............

How It All Started - My Dad taught me Ohm's law on a Jack-in-the-Box napkin over a cheeseburger and a Coke.  "It's all about relationships and it's easy as PIE", he said.  Fast forward: I got island fever years later in the Carribean and realized that books I inherited from him were written by men with "CALLSIGNS".  Eureka!  HAM radio became my message in a bottle.  Times were hard back then, though, because we were at rock bottom of the solar cycle and strictly enforced antenna prohibition conspired to make distant QSOs a minor miracle for me.  Still, Dad would be proud.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION  A Look Back - Digital, homebrew, antennae, technical professional, EMCOMM

The Road to Now - I got my FIRST Technician license back around Y2K and picked up my CW ticket in the same sitting.  After some more self-study, I earned my General and continued to study off and on for Amateur Extra.  But, back-to-back-to-back deployments left me overseas for what adds up to many years.  Unfortunately, my license expired but I've since left that life behind.  So, I aced the Tech test, brushed up and knocked out my General again and set my sights on my Amateur Extra exam.

What Now? - I'm doing a few things differently this time.  Instead of running straight to HF because of a couple territorial xenophobes, I'm populating 2 meters and expanding my coverage incrementally.  My beloved Emerald Coast is vibrant and alive with opportunity!  My fellow hams haven't let me down.  So, I'm paying it forward and bringing my boy along on the journey; what an incredible way for the ol' dog & the young dog to bond.

"It's all about relationships and it's easy as PIE."

The Road to the Future! -  My boy Ryken & I are enjoying the challenge of his first Tech license.  He really seems to have a sharp mind for it and I couldn't be more proud of him!  Well, I could.  But history's taught me that things seem to happen when I brag on him too much;]  I have extensive experience instructing and he's stepped up to fulfill my long-time desire to Elmer.  Best part?  He's making it easy as pie.  But, alas, I'll stop braggin' on him...

  73's,
