Hello, my name is Ryan and I'm a Satellite Technician for DirecTV/AT&T. I'm married with 2 amazing kids! I got into amateur radio because it is a hobby I can enjoy anywhere I go and at anytime in my busy schedule. I also play MilSim Airsoft when I have the opportunity. I also wanted to use my technical skills to help give back to my community, so I am an active member of Highlands County ARES, and Skywarn with NWS Tampa Bay. I am currently a general class operator, and am an ARRL Offical Emergency Station for West Central Florida. I play around with HF, VHF, 70cm and use Fusion, D-Star, and DMR. I occasionally work on RTTY or PSK31.

My rigs are an Icom IC-7100, a Yaesu FT-857D, a Kenwood TM-D710GA, an Icom ID-5100A, a Motorola XPR6500, and a Yaesu FT-2DR.

I typically only work 20 M on HF, as that is all the space I have avaliable for an antenna. I have a tuner for the Yaesu FT-857, but my main HF rig is the Icom and I don't have a tuner for it yet. I'm debating on putting up a multiband loop antenna to expand my capabilites. I have a go-box that has my Yaesu FT-857D and an Icom ID-5100A for emergency communications, and have built a solar generator to power the whole thing.

On D-Star, you can usually find me on REF030CL.
