I am a returning Ham operator with over 30 years of RC experience which includes Drones. I returned to the Ham hobby to be able to legally operate drones with FPV (first person view) television transmission capability.

I recently built an OHR100a 40M QRP radio and recently acquired a very seasoned, well used and well taken care of Elecraft K2 with SSB rig (serial number 0621 per the last owner, serial number tag missing) as the third caretaker of it. I plan on doing QRP on a regular basis and have designed and/or built most of my equipment (some from kits) with the exception of the Elecraft K2. I do plan on building a new K2 at some point in the future however.

My current station besides the Elecraft include a TS590SG setup as my permenant base station, and a FT857D that I will be using for Portable field work. My permanent station equipment runs off a 155Ah 12Vdc emergency power system. My portable station runs off a 35Ah 12Vdc emergency battery system supported currently by a Battery Tender, but will end up supported by solar charging system in the field.

I regularly volunteer to provide ham radio service for local events.

2014/2015 events I've participated in:

Lonestar Bike tour 2014 (Tactical Call Bravo SAG), KC Corporate Challenge Triathlon (cancelled due to weather), Shawnee Mission Triathlon (cancelled due to weather), Midwest Meltdown Triathlon (Tactical Call B-3), and Summer Breeze 2014 (Tactical Call SAG-4), MS 150 Bike Ride 2014 (Tactical Call SAG-15), MS Walkathon 2015, MS Bikeathon 2015 Tactical Call SAG7, Summer Breeze 2015 SAG 4.

I am a veteran of the US Army where I was a Multichannel Radio Systems Installer/Operator as well as the Battalion Mail Clerk during Desert Shield/Storm and currently work in the Aerospace industry on Commercial Aircraft navigation radio equipment.
