Big fun event Feb. 11th! I got to see and video in HD the launch of an Atlas V rocket at Vandenberg AFB. The payload was a NASA Landsat. Search ANOKAMAN on Youtube for that and a few motorcycle videos. I caught the radio bug from my Dad, W0DZM when I was just a kid back in Minnesota. I'm back on HF after several years of just 2 meter operation. I enjoyed field day, chasing DX, and did some contesting until the wind took out my A4S, 10 meter 5 ele., and 2 meter array about 8 years ago. I retired in July, 2012 so as of October 2012 I had an inverted V for 40M., and had a vertical rectangle loop for 10M. just in time for this 11 year cycle peak. The antenna WAS a TH3 with 2 extra directors but in late November one director was removed resulting in a significant improvement in front to back and directivity. There is a 17M vert. I call The Twig above the beam, and I also just brewed a 3 ele. for12 M.  The rig HAS BEEN a Yeasu FT 901 DM, D104 mic, running barefoot but something bad happened and most of the smoke escaped so I picked up a sweet little Kenwood TS-430. Not sure which band I like more, 12, 15 or 17. Mid-August 2013 I picked up a Kenwood TS-930 and as of Aug 2014 that's my main rig. The mic is an MC-60. TS-430 is now dedicated to 12 and 17M and will probably find use on RTTY.

I've earned a few "Awards", the usual list but my favorites are the Ragchewer Award, and the rare W.A.N.T. Award (Worked All Neighbors Televisions). Like my dad always said, "Ground well, tune and trim 'til it's right"

I guess I'll have to get a rig on the Honda soon, it would have been some added fun on my 2012 bucket list roadtrip from Wisconsin to Sturgis, SD., and eventually back to California. Bikes are Honda VTX 1300 (shown heading to the Post Office), Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (just sold but never forgotten), and a '51 Cushman project. I belong to the North American Aviation Skeet and Trap Club, and I hunt, fish, and play with my metal detector and other gold hunting gear. Radio control planes and rocketry are a couple other things I do when I have time. Oh yes, and there is always poker and the Stock Market!

The "Radio Police" are more of a problem than the poor idiots that aren't working the split.

Thanks for the lookup and 73!
