Your Input Is Requested!

This request comes from the Entry Level License Committee established by the ARRL Board of Directors and appointed in September 2016. We were tasked with evaluating the current entry level license (Technician) and making any recommendations to the Board for possible rules changes to recommend to the FCC.

The result could mean changes to the Technician license, but could also be an additional, but simpler, license with privileges that would give a newcomer experience with most facets of ham radio from HF to VHF and UHF, using all modes.

Take the survey!

Greetings!  I've been a Technician since November 2016.  I'm 36 years old and regret not being a ham for the last 20 years.  It's something I thought about doing many times.  As a young person I’d make crystal radios and FM Transmitters (bugs).  I’m sure many of you can relate.

I’m enjoying my time as a tech.  I don’t go anywhere without my baofangs.  I’ve meet many new friends on the local repeaters. Much of my time is spent on echolink and allstar while checking into many nets.  Of course I dream of the day I’m chasing DX on 80 meters.  Someday…

Best Regards,
