I was first licensed on July 7th 1992 as a no - code technician KD4QOW. I upgraded to General on October 19 1993 and on  November 23 , I upgraded to Advanced and was issued my present call KR4IP. I worked on my code speed and got up to 20 WPM and passed the Extra written on on October 10th 1995 earned my Extra class license and kept my Advanced class call. I enjoy working QRP and building my own equipment which includes an Elecraft K2 and working DX, operating digital modes PSK31 & 63 also JT65 and MT63 as well as other modes both QRP and QRO no more than 5 watts on JT65. My primary rig is a Kenwood TS-590s for QRO and to break through the pile ups a Henry 3K ultra. My antenna is an off center fed dipole at 50 feet. My QRP station consist of the same antenna set up and of course the Elecraft K2.

I am using LOTW AND EQSL AG primarily for QSL's and upload all contacts daily. As of December 11 2013 I have also added all contacts to HRD log.net. If you prefer paper I can also do that. NO IRC'S please as my local post office does not know how to process them. No SASE required if you need a paper card I will send one to you if send me one 100% return on QSL's recieved. Dx countries your local currency would be appreciated but is not necessary. My Grand daughter collects foreign currency. I upload to LOTW and eqsl as soon as possible after the the qso is finished. I also log all contacts on QRZ.COM and those are verified daily.I am a member of ARRL , Walton County Emergency Radio Club and The 30Meter Digital Group, member number 6517.

I fill out all QSL's the way my old elmer showed me. I log the beginning and ending time of the QSO in my log book and when I fill out QSL's I use the ending time in my log. I only log QSO's I send and receive a signal report and 73. On a digital QSO either RRR or 73 must be sent at the end of the QSO if you expect a QSL not just a signal report...

599 IS NOT A SIGNAL REPORT ON JT 65 OR JT9 THE SIGNAL REPORT ON THESE MODES IS GIVEN AS A + OR - FOLLOWED BY A NUMBER (Example -10 or + 10). THE CORRECT SIGNAL REPORT IS DISPLAYED BY THE SOFTWARE. Cards with 599 will be rejected as they will not match up with what is being used by my station.
