Ham Member Lookups: 108

New to HF June of 2015 and still learning.  Running an older Kenwood TS-50 with AT-50 antenna tuner that I got from a SK estate.  The SK was a WWII vet and I am honored to keep his station on the air.  Antenna is a Princeton OCF 66' wire dipole from Associated Radio, our great local "candy store".  Antenna is at 32' in my trees.

I love doing local public service events.

My interest in amateur radio started as a boy. My Dad's best friend was a ham (now a SK) and he always had a radio with him and he had an awesome shack.  I still remember being in awe of it all.  I grew up in a trucker family and CB radio was prominent in our vehicles and home in the 70's.  I used to install radios and antennas in our cars even when I was just a teen.  College, job, marriage, and six kids didn't leave much time for a hobby so I never pursued my desire to become a ham.  About a year ago, I found out about a local class to assist people in getting their ticket.  I signed up along with my son-in-law and a couple friends.  We all decided to shoot for Tech and General on test day and we were all successful.  Enjoying the hobby and excited to learn more.

My family and my Lord Jesus Christ are the most important things to me.

My local club is WØERH, the Johnson County Radio Amateurs Club.  A great bunch.  Main repeater is 145.29 with a 151.4 tone.
