On February 25th, 2014, the Trojan Amateur Radio Club, the "Club" was licensed by the F.C.C. and given the call sign KK4YOG. The Club is located on the main campus of Troy University, Troy, Alabama, ( approximately 50 miles southeast of Montgomery, Alabama), Dr. Jack Hawkins Chancellor of the Troy University System.

The Club is student oriented and will focus its efforts on educating students, faculty and staff in all aspects of Amateur Radio. The Club's focus on students, faculty and staff of Troy University will be augmented by including the education on all aspects of Amateur Radio to the residents of the City of Troy, Alabama, also including residents of Pike County, Alabama, and those residing in surrounding counties to become licensed Amateur Radio operators.

On May 9th, 2014, the Club (pursuant to an application for vanity call sign), was issued a new call sign, KT4ROY, by the F.C.C. The call sign in the opinion of the members of the Club, was more indicative of the name, history and tradition of Troy University and the City of Troy, and sends an unmistakable message that the Club is located in TROY and its affiliation with Troy University.

The members and officers of the Club would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the members of the Troy Amateur Radio Club,W4NQ, Troy, Alabama, for all their advice, input and equipment donations that will be instrumental in the success of the Trojan Amateur Radio Club, For more information on our Club, e-mail Dr. Bill Grantham, KC4QWM, (interim president) at bgranth@troy.edu.

In a true spirit of co-operation between the Troy Amateur Radio Club, W4NQ, and the Trojan Amateur Radio Club,KT4ROY, a new Yaesu Fusion repeater was procured with the assistance of Yaesu Inc.and Gigaparts Inc. The new repeater will soon be installed and in operation. Members of both clubs (some members have dual membership in each club) have and are working hard to make sure that both clubs will continue to work together to provide the opportunity for citizens and students in our area to become licensed Amateur Radio operators and to educate the general public on all aspects of Ham Radio

Members of the Club invite and encourage everyone to visit the Trojan Amateur Radio Club website at: kt4roy.org and visit the Troy University website at www.troy.edu. Thanks for also visiting our QRZ webpage. Good Luck, 73 and Go Trojans !!.
