It's great being back into Ham Radio.  Back in 1982 I got my Novice, (KB6BTI).  For whatever reasons I lost intrest, sold my gear, a Kenwood TS520, Hygain multiband antenna. and moved on.

My brother and I were watching some YouTube videos and came across some video on 2 meter HTs.  In September 2014 took my Tech, and passed, October 2014 passed General, Then November 2014 passed my Extra.  My brother Chris(KW4CJ) studied and passed the exams also, but passed his General and Extra in one sitting.   I passed the VE exam, and will assist The Lincoln Trail Amateur Radio Club.

We ordered a used Kenwood TS-430S, a Kenwood AT-250 automatic antenna tuner,  built a balum and put up some wire.  Nothing fancy, but it works.. On Dec 24th we were on the air, with the only piece of origional ham gear, a Shure 444.  The radio and tuner have been gone through and cleaned up.  Works great and I make daily contact with  other hams here in the states and other parts of the world.  Now I have a Elecraft K3, running into a Ameritron 811 amp, and a LDG AT-6000 ProII Autotuner.  A Hex beam, and a 40m/80m dipole.

Enjoy participating in the Brothers Net.
