Hello and welcome to my page!
My ordinary QTH is in a city with name Fredrikstad. It is in the South East part of Norway.
I have been a licenced ham operator since march 2009. I have been working at the norwegian telephone company for 20 years, and as a sailor for about 7 years, on both deck and in engine. Today I am a seasonal worker with service and installations on fire alarms.

Please read here: I am a collector of ordinary QSL cards ! A QSL card is a private verification for an QSO on the air between to stations. I am sending QSL cards to all operators who uses a bureau as soon as possible after our QSO. Make me happy by sending one to me!

The Old city into Fredrikstad
At the beginning of the Oslofjord, just inside of the Hvaler islands is the city called Fredrikstad where I have my QTH. The city located at the outlet of The Glomma river was founded in 1567 and was named after the Danish/Norwegian king Fredrick II. The city was a fortified town approx 100 years later.
Colonel Willem Coucheron made comprehensive plans for fortifications for this city, with deep bastions surrounded by a wide water filled moat. The city was strategically important for the army and navy, who had their stock here. With their many heavy guns, this fortress was a safe base for the sea hero Peter Wessel Tordenskjold in 1716 that operated on the Bohuslan coast and is mostly known for his attack against the Swedish fleet into the Dynekil. (Bohuslan is the swedish west coast)
The fortress was abandoned in 1903 as an active system, but the defense stayed into the area until 2002. Fredrikstad fortress, at the East side of glomma, stands today as one of the most intact fortified towns into the northern Europe.
Fredrikstad is known in earlier times for big sawmills, many brickworks, stone cutting, small gasoline engine factories and shipbuildings. Today the city's residents live on both side of the Glomma River.

This photo is from a winterday in Nov. 2013 with test of portable operations at "Lilleseter" Loc. JO49XF30UE close to "Musekollen" in Vestfold. The radio I used was an Icom Ic 7200 with 100w, the vertical antenna system is hommade. It consist of an earlier lifeboat emergency antenna on a tripod with an Icom AH3 atu, easily explained. The current generator is a Honda EU10i.

This is perfect for portable and emergency use when and where it is necessary!

I had 3 qso's there with good reports. Finland 59, Luxembourg 59, Germany 59, and I was very satisfied with these reports.
