Born 1969, licensed LB9KE since 2001.
Member of NRRL and LA1T (Norwegian Radio Relay League and the Tønsberg local branch of NRRL / club station).

I QSL via eqsl.cc (Authenticity Guaranteed) or ARRL LoTW (ARRL logbook of the world) (only electronic/WEB).

That is; I do not send traditional QSL cards for the time being. WEB-QSL is way more efficient.

Further summer plans, summer vacation 2017 and early fall:
I will continue to operate mobile/portable when possible through the summer and early fall. Most likely with a vertical wire delta loop. Rig will be the thrustworthy ICOM IC-706 mkIIG with the AH-4 tuner.

Summer vacation week 29, July 15 - 22, 2017:
Operated HF portable/mobile as OZ/LB9KE from JO55AE in Funen/Denmark (Fyn, Danmark).
RIG was ICOM IC-706 @100W. Antenna ended up as vertical Delta-loop of 38m length. Apex was 10m, low points were 1m. Center fed in mid bottom. Antenna started out as inverted vee of max height 10 meters, sloping to 1 meter. Element length of the inverted vee was 11m. The antenna was tuned with a ICOM AH-4 in both cases.

The summer vacation QTH at Brunshuse, Funen. Overlooking Lillebælt to the west.

May 2016: As of current, I do not have a mobile V/U or HF installation in my car. The 2008 Outback gen III was replaced by a 2015 Subaru Outback gen V. Any mobile operation will be sporadic with ad-hoc portable equipment. Mobile experimenting is fun, but Norwegian winter weather and climate makes permanent moble HF antenna installations almost impossible. The solution must be easy to attach and detach. I will continue with mobile experiments when time allows in the future.

The family mountain cabin in Telemark at JP40kb was sold spring 2014.
Thus; I do not operate from that location anymore.

Fall 2012: The 1998 Jeep Cherokee aka "the Cherrox" was replaced by a 2008 Subaru Outback gen III. The Outback carries a V/U-installation with the Kenwood TM-D710 and the Diamond NR-770B or a shortened whip. Antenna mount is WIMO heavy duty PL type for roof mounting.

July 26, 2012: QRV HF fairly seldom, usually from mountain cabin in Telemark, JP40kb. As of current, no mobile HF installation exist.
Antennas and rig @mountain cabin:
HF: 80m loop + AH-4 tuner
VHF/UHF: Diamond X510 Vertical

Antennas and rig @mobile:
Kenwood TM-D710 for local VHF/UHF/APRS (since June '09).
V/U mobile whip: Diamond NR-770H or Comet SBB0.

July 16, 2010:Mostly QRV @HFwhen mobile. Sometimes from mountain cabin in Telemark JP40kb, 860m ASL.

Operating HF with Icom IC-706 MkIIG +AH-4 automatic tuner and either of these HF Whips:
#1: 1.83m MFJ-1964 tapered stainless steel. Currently the favourite whip.
#2: Moonraker 20m HamStick clone.
#3: MFJ-1675 75m HamStick clone.

Operating local VHF/UHF/APRSwith Kenwood TM-D710 (since June '09).
Ex: V/U's - Kenwood TM-D700, Icom IC-2710H - both sold June '09.
V/U whip: Diamond NR-770H or Procom dualband.

Antennas @mountain cabin:
HF: 80m loop + AH-4 tuner
VHF/UHF: Diamond X510 Vertical

Currently, there is no HF installation in the Cherrox as below. The TM-D710 has been moved over to my Mondeo, expecting to be prepared for HF soon. HF in the Cherrox was fun, but with the HF whip it stands a bit tall for my garage as a daily driver.

My mobile shack, the
My mobile shack ("the Cherrox") as it stands today. It's a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Now, in the fall 2009 I will test various HF antenna configurations and mounting locations. Here I have fitted it with the MFJ-1964 on a old Thule ski rack, roof mounting in order to get a good RF ground plane beneath the radiating element. The fold-over quick disconnect and HF insulator are Breedlove make. The AH-4 tuner is fitted hanging under the roof, earth connection at the tailgate door hinge.

Closeup of the old Thule ski-rack with Breedlove fold-over quick-disco and HF insulator. For the time being, the antenna feed wire is just pulled from the tuner and between the body and tailgate. The ski rack hides a WiMo SO-239 mount which usually has been themount and connectorfor the Diamond NR-770 V/U mobile whip. Wiring and mounting to be of a more permanent feed-through when I'm finished experimenting.

Control heads for the Kenwood TM-D710 and Icom IC-706 at the fascia. I can rest my elbow on the centre console and operate the tuning knob of the 706. Separate speakers (Nokia/Motorola) to the radios because I had two on the shelf. Plan is to have the radios share a single speaker, but interface remains to be made.

Overview of the control setup. Mikes are hung on mobile phone magnets fitted on the right side of the centre console by the automatic shift lever. Not visible in the image, but the mike cable of the 706 gives a clue of location.
