 Hola Amigos    smiley

Hello Friends:

My name is Juan Carlos, and I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 7th, 1945. When I was 15 years old, my parents allowed me to take the exam, to become a Ham. So, since August 26 1960 my Call Sign LU2DVI was born, and from that time I have enjoyed this wonderful Hobby!!

It’s been 57 years already, and in between, I have constructed and designed lots of transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, antennas, instruments and electronic accessories. Moreover I have dedicated many hours in experimentation and communications.

I’m an electronic technician. Nowadays, I’m working for a Company testing attenuation of “R.F. Shields” for Magnetic Resonance Rooms.

I want to thank all the ham fellows that I met. Specially, Armando L. Guggiari [LU7DJA],SK, and Mario San Luis ,[LU5DAA], SK , too!, for assisting , helping and sending me electronic stuff , with dedication and without expecting anything in return.

My gratitude, and thanks to my lovely wife Julia , not only for spoiling her wonderful garden and terrace , with wires, cables, and antennas, but for all those hours spent on the radio, [ at her expense ].

I prefer Low Bands; you can usually find me active, at the "Top Band ", "80 Mts", and "40 Mts." .I like running contests and practicing the art of Dxing. Actually, I’m transmitting from Córdoba province [LU2DVI /H ].I live In a little town called:" Loma Bola ," located on the border of the higher mountain range, called "Comechingones", (850 Mts. above sea level). It’s a beautiful place with a special kind of weather, surrounded by vegetation, and mountains.

Juan was active yesterday on 3799 around 0245Z. With Argentine calls the first letter in after the number in the LU callsigns tells what province they are operating from. The stroke (/) H designates he is operating portable in another province.

The one that really threw me was LU2DVI/ " Hotel." I didn't know if it was a- phonetic “ H ” or if he was operating from a hotel! (N8BC).

W8TN - Clark W8TN Thu Dec 6 08:07:41 PST 2007 Guys,

As you know I've been having a blast on 160-M over the last two weeks working 51 NEW Countries in just 12 days. The latest was LU2DVI/H in Argentina last night on SSB. I never knew you could work 5,000 miles on 160-M with Sideband - W8UV's been keeping that a secret!
