Hello all, my name is David Vickers QTH is Sheffield in South Yorkshire. QRA: IO93GK-WAB: SK37, Book Number 12887 ITU ZONE: 27-CQ ZONE: 14. I have worked in the motor trade since 1983. My interests are Amateur Radio, computers, fast cars & faster motor bikes. I have been a licensed radio ham since 1991, when I held the callsign of G7MOR. I progressed on to my full class A call after taking my 12wpm CW exam in August 1996. My main ham radio interests are HF-Rag chewing, plus a little DX also talking on VHF & UHF. As well as combining ham radio with the internet (EchoLink, eQSO, IRLP, UI-View, D-Star & DMR). I have been interested in radio since i was eight years old in 1975. When my father brought home from work a Marconi Marine Receiver, this first sparked my interest in all things radio. After serving my apprentiship as a SWL i moved on to CB Radio in 1978, then my RAE in 1991.

Where you can find me monitoring & talking through the Sheffield D-Star Repeater GB7SF on an output of 145.73750Mhz DV Mode. As well as being QRV on the VHF DV Calling frequency (144.61250Mhz) & on the UHF DV Calling frequency (438.61250Mhz). I am a member of the Sheffield D-Star group, please call into the GB7SF repeater & give out a call. Also on DMR via GB7SR in Sheffield where i use the Motorola DMR Mototrbo system. The kit i have is a DM4600 Mobile & an DP4800 HT, that i use both simplex & through a repeater (GB7SR at Foxhill in Sheffield). It's ran by Andy, M0GAV. You can also find me on Echo Link, where my Node number is "2067". I run a Yaesu FT-1000MP at 100watts output into various wire aerials, di-poles & doublets. Other Kit is a Yaesu FT-8100R, FT-8800R & a Icom IC-207 & IC-2725 for VHF & UHF, FM working into a WX-1 type aerial. I also have for D-Star use, an Icom IC-E91 & IC-E2820 for VHF & UHF, DV (Digital Voice protocol) working into a Diamond X-30 aerial , to name but a few.
