Ham Member Lookups: 3707

Thanks for taking the time to look me up:

I have been a licensed amateur for over 30 years, previous call sign G6AHA. Like many hams of my era I was always fascinated by the ability to 'listen' to broadcast programmes 'out of thin air'. Building crystal sets as a youngster established radio as my preferred and most accessible media.

As a Radio & Line Transmission Engineer I worked on everything from DC to Microwave and then it was the era of fibre optic technologies. I was privileged to work with a number of ex RAF and Army Signals whom I discovered were Radio amateurs (G3's and G8's) and it was they who introduced me to the world of Amateur Radio.

QRS - I'm finally having a go at morse.  If you hear me please be patient as the last time I did CW was 20 years ago.  Then you required an 'A' licence to get on the HF bands.  I monitor mainly FISTS cw freq 7.028 - sometimes straying up the bands sticking to the FISTS frequencies as people who operate here are very patient, helpful and offer encourgement. FISTS #17055.

QSL Policy: I look forward to receiving qsl cards. If you wish to send via postal service I will respond with pleasure. Via the burea It can take up to 3 years before I receive your QSL card so please if possible use QRZ.com, eQSL or LoTW.
