I am active on HF, 2 Meters and 70 cm's on all modes and I also enjoy a bit of SSTV on 14.230Mhz but I am limited with my garden space for large antennas. I use an end fed vertical long wire antenna on HF which I keep under control with a 9:1 UNUN and this is connected to my Yaesu FT897D and my Icom 7100.
I also have a half size G5RV when I do portable work. It is not ideal but it does a good job and results are reasonable. I also operate on 6 Meters on a limited basis on all modes.
I am active on 70mhz when conditions allow but I mainly use this band for making contact with my local club members. I am an active member of the Dunstable Downs Radio Club and the Verulam Amateur Radio Club.
I use a Baofeng handheld portable and have a Yaesu FT-7900 unit for mobile use which is connected to a Diamond mag-mounted antenna.
I am also active on 23cm’s and 13cm's amateur analogue television and operate on GB3TV and GB3TZ
I have also recently added 70cm's digital ATV to my station.
I have recently been introduced to contesting which I have enjoyed but I cannot take it to seriously. I much prefer to "chew the fat" on a QSO.
I can be contacted by email on firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for looking at my profile.
I subscribe to the DX code of conduct.
I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.
I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.
I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.
I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.
I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call.
I will always send my full call sign.
I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.
I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.
I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.
I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.
When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.
I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.
I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.
