Originally licensed in 1996 as 2E1EVJ, I obtained my full callsign M0VFC in 2009. I enjoy a wide range of activies, mostly with the Camb-Hams (the social side of the Cambridgeshire Repeater Group) and the Cambridge University Wireless Society.
I enjoy running both HF and VHF portable stations as part of a team - you're much more likely to have worked me under another callsign than my own. Recently, these have included:
C6APY, Little Harbour Cay, Bahamas, with M0IDA and M1ACB - QSL via M0OXO (March 2017)
TF/M0VFC, Iceland, mostly on the Westman Islands EU-071 (September 2016)
JW/M0VFC, Svalbard, with G3ZAY, M0BLF, M0HSW, M0TJH and M1BXF (July 2015)
VP9/M0VFC, Bermuda, with M0BLF, G3ZAY and G7VJR (February 2014)
ZD8UW, Ascension Island - QSL via M0OXO (December 2013)
ZD9UW, Tristan da Cunha, for which I was awarded the Cass Award (and M0VFC/MM in the South Atlantic Ocean on the way there and back!) (2012)
I've been a member of RAYNET since I was first licensed in 1996, and currently serve as Group Controller for Cambridgeshire RAYNET. I'm also a member of the RSGB and CDXC.
Outside of Amateur Radio, I work as a Software Engineer in Cambridge, help out at Cambridge 105 (mostly handling the technical aspects of our outside broadcasts, though along with M0LCM, I present the fortnightly Gadget Guide spot) and enjoy photography, though have occasionally been known to do silly things like Paragliding.
You can follow me on Twitter, or have a look at my blog.
