Thank you for taking the time to read my QRZ page. I currenly live in a small town 20 miles south of the City birmigham and 12 miles north of Worcester call Stourport On Severn. I live at the lowest point in the area at only 20m ASL. Being this low and on a modern housing estate it has its dis advantages with local noise levels being very high and being surrounded by the Severn Valley. I still do the best I can with what ive got and have made some interesting contacts on all bands.

Im currently a member of the Hereford Amatuer Radio Society of which ive only been a member since Decemer 2016. The society have made me very welcome and with regular meets that are allways well attended with various activites going on. I choose to join the this club over other previous Clubs as I wanted my points from the UKAC contests to go somewhere local. I also felt that my previous Club ( Not so local ) didnt have enough meets or activites going on to keep my interest.

Contesting

One of my main interests in the hobby is VHF contesting.I have been heavly involved for 5 years or more now. Last year (2016) I won the 144mhz UKAC restricted section which has been one of my goals for a long time. I have worked hard to get a mobile shack that works and is easily set up and packed down. I mainly contest from IO82QL which is the summit of Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire. It took me along time to gain access to this site and it has paid off. Weather conditions on the sumit in the winter months can be very harsh with tempertures dropping as low as -10 later in the evening. This makes packing up interesting especially if theres fog/cloud as well.

I have operated under quite a few different call signs over the years, for various groups and you may of worked me under these with out knowing.

M0KRG/P - Kidderminster repeater Group (2012 VHF NFD)

MW0TWC/P - Traveleing Wave Contest Group. (2013/2015/2016 VHF NFD)

M0BAA/P -Black Sheep Contest Group (2014 operated VHF NFD)

G3YDD/P – Hereford Amateur Radio Club (VHF NFD 2017)

Data Modes

Over the last few months I have spent allot of time getting Data modes working in my mobile shack, I have managed to work all over europe so far on 6m and have been recieved as far as Japan via PSK Reporter. My ¼ wave 6m whip is very basic but seems to work very well. I Cant add any big antennas to the land rover due to low hanging trees and writing 2 off this year allready!
