MB6IWL is a attended D-Star simplex gateway located in Hayes, Middlesex (West London)
NoV was issued on the 17th January 2017, it went LIVE on 21st January 2017
The node uses a Raspberry pi 3 and a DV4mini running barefoot 12mW which in turn is connected to a Diamond X-30 collinear antenna.
ERP is a max -16dBw (approx 40mW)
The operating frequency is 434.525MHz
Coverage is very small with a handheld (range is limited to 0.65mile). If you are using a base setup coverage upto 2miles is possiable.
The node has the ircDDB software running. So you will need to configure your radio to change reflectors.
The node has to be attended and the NoV has restrictions! maximum availability of upto 8 hours a day and upto 7 days a week. Mainly weekday evenings and weekend. Obviously there will be times the node will be unavailable.
Main reasons for setting up the node was local repeaters internet connections sometimes go down. If you want to connect to a node and listen to a reflector you are more than welcome!
