After almost 15 years off the air, I installed a 3 band vertical antenna in May '09 and fired up the station. In July 2010, I added a 15M inverted vee dipole under the eaves of my deck with the peak at only 16 feet. I use this antenna with a tuner on both 17M and 12M. Born in Stillwater, OK in 1941, first licensed in 1959 after a High School class in Amateur Radio, and holder of N0CKC since 1981. Prefer Kenwood rigs and current station includes a TS440s, TS430, TS130s, TS130v, TS590 and TS140s.

I was very active as a mobile station and county hunter in the early 1980's and earned the all counties award in Dec 1984. Also enjoy DXing and contests. XYL is N0DPX - we just celebrated our 50th anniversary. I served 4 years in the USAF and then chose to work in the Federal civil service. I retired after 30 years and now have the freedom to do the things I enjoy.

The propagation gods have been good to me recently. On April 9, 2013, I was able to work VU2NXM on 15M for my last of the 40 CQ zones. HAPPY DAYS! Then, on June 16, I got JT5DX in Mongolia on 15M for my last zone on 15M.
