Thanks for looking me up.

I have been interested in Amateur Radio since High School but never had the funds to pursue it to any great degree. I did purchase a National NC100 from Allied Radio in Chicago. Dad and I drove the 100 miles and I spent my lawn mowing money on the radio. I did some shortware listening intermittenly over the years but never took it serious until the early 90's. Got my Tech license first then followed up with a Tech + while spending some time with IBM in Poughkeepsie NY.

Was involved with the Longmont Amateur Radio Club (LARC) at this point as well as PARC (Poughkeepsie amateur Radio Club)and MBARC (Mount Beacon Amateur Radio Club( while in New York. So far all my activity has been with the local hams on 2M wth HTs and now with dual banders in my van and at my base. I am also active with BCARES (Boulder / Broomfield Amateur radio Emergency Services) serving these two counties in Colorado

Since retiring from IBM in 2010 I have been studying to upgrade and finally managed to get my General about a year ago. Been doing some listening and studying and finally just put up a Carolina Windom on the house this past weekend (Oct 2012). After struggling with some antenna projects, my Elmer, NS0W, finally made that possible, so I'm now ready to get started on the air with HF.  I really thought I was going to have more time when I retired , but it's not working out that way.   Hope to talk with you on the airwaves.

December 2016 Update:

Time does fly. I did manage to study and upgrade to Extra this year. Planning is already underway for the annual LARCFest coming up in April 2017. After 3 years as President of the Longmont Amateur Radio club, I now have a bit more time time to devote to the hobby but still have not managed to get hooked on HF. Still spending a lot of time with the ARES organization in Boulder County (BCARES) and any number of projects including genealogy and coaching for Senior computer classes.

Finally got around to getting this biography updated at tleast a little bit..........'73
