I became licensed as a No Code Technician in order to work with our local ham community during Skywarn Weather Nets while I was employed in local law enforcement.  I became hooked on the hobby and upgraded throught Technician Plus to General so I could use more Hf Bands.  My current interest is in ARES communication using NBEM's on the HF, Vhf and Uhf bands. I am active at the SE Minnesota Digital Net on 147.255 Mhz and the Minnesota Section Digital ARES net on 3.583.5. I am currently a Volunteer Lead with the American Red Cross in it's Minnesota Region Logistics and External Relations Teams.  As a liaison between the Red Cross and Amatuer Radio I have participated in both local and regional preparedness exercises.  I would urge any Ham Radio Operator to consider bringing their talents to the American Red Cross and become a volunteer.
