Hello, and thank you for taking time to look me up on QRZ. I want to give a very special Thank You to all of our Nation's great Veterans who have served and fought with distinction for our United States to keep her free so we can pursue our hobby.

I became interested in Amateur Radio when I was about ten years old but it wasn't until 1992 that a dear friend and now silent key, KA7AII, Lee Gomez, rekindled the desire in me. I was licensed as a no code tech in 1992, and I became an Extra Class in August of 1995.  I enjoy my HF privelages and especially my VHF privelages. I do more listening on HF and more talking on VHF. I love it when the VHF Band opens and I can hear distant stations I don't normally hear. I have a Mosley 14 element beam up at 50 feet and I seem to get out quite well for not being really high up with it. My VHF rigs are a Yaesu FTM 400DR dual band, and an Icom V8000 monoband and I interchange them and use both but I use the Icom for long distance since it produces 75 watts. I plan on buying an Icom 9100 soon that will produce 100 watts on VHF.  For HF I have a homebrew 160 meter non resonant antenna fed with ladder line, and including a balun and a jumper to an MFJ 998 auto tuner. The HF rig is a Yaesu FTDX 5000 MP.  My HF amplifier is an Ameritron ALS 1306 Solid State no tune amp which is near legal limit at 1200 watts output.

Thanks again for looking me up, 73 and I hope you enjoy the Hobby as much as I do.
